French sparkling water brand Perrier is hosting its third-ever “Perrier Mixologist Team Thailand Competition” this Nov 6-8 across some of Bangkok’s most celebrated cocktail venues. The competition sees promising cocktail stars from around Thailand compete to join Perrier’s mixology team by showing off their best Thai-inspired recipes.

Three world-renowned bartenders from across the globe will join this year’s judging panel—Dario Knox, Shingo Gokan and Lizzy Evdokimova—and all three will host special cocktail nights at some of Bangkok’s best bars.

Dario Knox, head bartender of Singapore’s The Other Room (No. 35 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2017) takes over Oskar Bistro on Sukhumvit Soi 11 on Nov 6. After starting his bartending career at the tender age of 17, the Italian has won several international cocktail competitions since bursting onto the international scene in 2010. He’s best known in Singapore for his nightly rotating “secret” drinks list.

On the same night, Lizzy Evdokimova, winner of the Bacardi Legacy Global Cocktail Competition 2013, heads up Bamboo Bar at the Mandarin Oriental. The Russian-born Evdokimova was the first bartender from her home country and the only woman to have ever won the Bacardi tournament. Two years after that victory, she became a Bacardi brand ambassador for Eastern Europe, then moved to Shanghai to join fellow judge Shingo Gokan and start Sober Kitchen inside the renowned bar Sober Company (No. 19 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2017).

As for Gokan, he’s responsible for wrapping up the Perrier event in style with another bartending display at Bamboo Bar on Nov 8. Gokan is one of the most recognizable names in the international mixology scene. He owns several venues ranked in Asia’s 50 Best Bars list—Speaklow Shanghai (2nd in Asia 2017 and 15th in the World 2016) and Sober Company Shanghai (19th in Asia)—and was awarded International Bartender of the Year in 2017.
