SINGAPORE BAR

Drinks & Co.

The buzz: This lowkey bottle shop and café, just officially launched, sells mainly New World wines and spirits ranging from commercial to boutique.

The décor: Bright lights, clean lines—it looks very much like a retail space.

The drinks: Expect very forward, forthright vinos, available by the bottle from as low as $22, while selected labels are served by the glass at $10 each. Spirits—a fair range of gin, whiskey vodka and rum brands—are sold by the bottle at very good prices, some even lower than at bottle shops. You can purchase mixers like Fever-Tree Tonic ($3) to consume them on the spot. They also host wine tastings, most recently with Jason Yank, the CEO of NZ’s Astrolabe Wines.

The food: Basic grub, like cheese platters ($22) and wagyu beef carpaccio ($16). They’ve also teamed up with Spizza down the road, and will have pizzas delivered to hungry drinkers.

The music: Soft rock and power ballads. What more could you ask for?

The crowd: The crowd’s mainly bankers and corporate types, but they’re considerably less raucous than the rest of Club Street.

Why you’ll be back: You’re on your way to a house party and need to pick up a bottle of alcohol, stat.
