The brainchild of the Instant Café Theatre Company (one of Malaysia's premier theatre companies), CHAI (Instant Café House of Art and Ideas) was conceptualised as a space for artists to create, meet, discuss and engage with like-minded individuals as well as showcase their work to the wider public. Operating since 2009 it has housed regular performances, workshops, lectures, exhibitions and much more and is now one of the leading artistic and creative spaces in the city. Each month, CHAI invites curators who bring with them ideas, forums, conversations - anything at all to pique artistic interest.
