Helmed by Chef Fernando Tabernero who used to work at famed 3 Michelin star Basque restuarant Martin Berasategui, El Mesón clearly has aspirations to be one of the Spanish restuarants in town. The decor keeps things pretty simple with some fairly subtle Iberian hints from the bulls head bust to the flamenco mural adding a touch of atmoshpere. When it comes to the food then there's a clear focus on classic tapas offerings and a number of different varieties of Paella but the chef does also explore more intriguing and unusual Spanish fare like the conejo a la cazadora (rabbit stew) and Iberico ribs with smoked membrillo sauce.
