SINGAPORE BAR

Southbridge

An champagne and oyster-centric rooftop bar in Boat Quay with killer views of the CBD

The buzz: The folks from il Lido dabble in the rooftop bar scene with a swanky champagne and oyster combo, as well as a gorgeous view of the bay area from the hidden Boat Quay location.

The decor: Geometric industrial chic. It's all about clean designs with a square, dark marble bar and black steel lines on chairs and high top tables, fitting for the understated rooftop space. They've also installed a rubber floor surface, similar to that found on playgrounds, which could make walking in heels a little more treacherous.

The drinks: Populated by craft cocktails, wines, bubblies, beers, housepour spirits and bottles. Cocktails are divided by base spirits with infusions made in-house. There are libations like the sweet Sex on the Quay ($18) with home-infused earl grey vodka, mango, raspberry and sugarcane; a refreshing Rosemary Baby ($18) with gin, blackberry vodka, honey and rosemary; and stiffer options like the smoky Bette Davis Eyes ($22) with blended whisky, lapsang souchong and green Chartreuse.

The food: Seafood-centric with a focus on oysters. Sourced from New Zealand, they've got signatures served by the half dozen (all $20 at Happy Hour, $24 regular) like Umami with ponzu and yuzu sauce. They also have cooked oysters (all $30) like Unifeller, cooked with cheese and uni sabayon. Make a beeline for the truffle and smoked pancetta bikini sandwiches ($12) and the juicy pulled pork sliders ($12).

The music: Top 40s interlaced with some big band jazz standards.

The crowd: After-work folks who want a quieter respite from the raucous Boat Quay pub scene.

Why you'll be back: It's nothing serious like those atas cocktail and oyster bars and is one of the only rooftop bars in Boat Quay. Plus, for a half dozen oysters, they are decently priced and fresh.
