SINGAPORE BAR

Montreux Jazz Cafe

Part of the famed Montreux Jazz Festival, this café serves up nosh and tipples named after famous jazz legends.

Fans of the famed Montreux Jazz Festival, which was last here in 2005, will rejoice knowing that it has returned to Singapore with the Montreux Jazz Cafe. Located at Pan Pacific Orchard, the 500-seater outfit is the first in Asia.

Launched by festival founder Claude Nob, those who are unfamiliar to the cafe should expect live music and bistro fare set in a semi-casual and sophisticated space. Live music performances will include a local and regional line-up, but it's not all retro soul on show. Genres like rock, pop, hip-hop and world music will be thrown into the mix, too.

Unsurprisingly, the menu features items named after famous jazz legends such as the B.B Burger ($16), Quincy Jones roast chicken ($32) and Ella's cheesecake ($15). The cocktail list follows suit with drinks like the Sinnerman ($18), a drink that pays tribute to Nina Simone’s famous song, and The Girl From Ipanema($18), inspired by another iconic jazz song.
